Heavy Online Traffic On Cyber Monday; But Where Are The Bargains?

So today is Cyber Monday, the so called “biggest online shopping day of the year”, the official start of the online holiday shopping season. Well, that’s of course according to online retailer association Shop.org!

But is this real or is just another marketing gimmick to entail consumers to shop online?

Cyber Monday 2008 better than 2007

Well shopper seems indeed heading to online retail stores. Internet service provider Akamai reports “record” traffic to its 270 global retail customers’ web sites with over 6.6 million visitors per minute at 11 AM (Pacific Time), surpassing the 2007 Cyber Monday peak of 4.6 million visitors per minute. That’s also over 60% over normal traffic for U.S. online stores.

But where are the bargains?

No offers or products really stand out. Apple is offering free shipping for orders over $50. Duh! Prices at Amazon, Best Buy, Circuit City, Fry’s and Walmart are pretty much the same than pre-Black Friday and don’t match the past week-end promotions. So why bother.

To get coupons on everything from the latest fashions to home goods, check out iStorez. It’s new and basically pulls together all of the store specials across all of the major brands and retailers in real-time so you can get them in one place in stead of at each individual site. Here’s their coupon page if you’re interested — http://istorez.com/s/coupons. Enjoy!
