LG's wristwatch 3G phone also acts as a high speed wireless Internet modem
Think of this gadget as an iPhone 3G on a wrist!
LG Electronics plans to launch next month the world’s first wristwatch-style 3G smartphone in Korea and Europe; an early prototype was unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show last January.
A complete tether-able smartphone in a watch!
What I like about the waterproof GD910 is its data capabilities, as this fairly large touchscreen wristwatch doubles also as a Bluetooth 3G wireless modem or “tethering”, connecting a computer to the cellular network.
Which is not yet “officially” possible with an iPhone 3G, although feasible if you’re willing to hack your phone and risk to have AT&T charge you for it!
The LG device also supports voice-dialing, speech recognition for text-to-speech composition of text messages, video calls (with its built-in camera) and functions as a speakerphone and an MP3 player.
I actually will not mind trading my Blackberry Curve with LG’s wristwatch phone: I usually carry a laptop/netbook around anyway. But it’s sure going to be a pricey item. Next, next year!
I can’t believe how advanced 3-d technology is becoming latley. Rather soon they are launching 3d phones and the 3ds handheld should be worth investing in. Still i feel that its somewhat gimmicky. Any opinions?
