VC are shifting focus onto more mature firms and early phase funding is a problem. And it is not only in the US, it can be even worse elsewhere. We are starting a new global initiative to help the situation, http://www.growvc.com. It is place where early phase investors and start-ups can meet. And we plan to launch many other investment models especially for early phase (10k to 1M investments) during the next months. There is also a new non-profit “open source” type activity to categorize start-ups, http://www.startupcommons.org, to help the match-making.
