Setting up your Amped wireless range extender allows you to connect your router (access point) to your client if you check that there is low or no signal between the two. It works as a WiFi signal repeater and extends the range of your wireless router. If your WiFi signal is not strong enough, and the client or receiver is not getting any signal from your router (due to the separating distance between the two), you can use your Amped wireless range extender to extend the range or the coverage area of your router. After that, the user should receive the signal as desired.
The process of setting up your Amped wireless range extender is pretty straightforward. You just need to follow some simple steps to set up the extender successfully. The steps necessary to set up the extender is mentioned below:
Set Up The Amped Wireless Range Extender
First, you need to find out where to place the range extender. Select a place where the extender receives a strong signal from your wireless router.
Next, you need to connect the extender to your PC. Plug the range extender into a power outlet. Once you plug it in, you should see a new WiFi network on your PC. Click on Connect.
You’ll see a prompt asking if you want to set up the router. Click on Just Connect.
Open a browser and type “http://setup.ampedwireless.com” or type “http://192.168.1.240”
If you are having problems with setting up the extender wirelessly, you can try using an ethernet cable to connect it directly to your PC.
Next, you will be directed to the dashboard from where you can select the network you want to extend. Make sure that the network you choose has over 70% signal strength. If the signal strength is lower than that, find some other location for the extender.
After selecting the network you wish to extend, you need to enter the network security key (if any) and click on Next. Now, your Amped range extender will reboot, and you will be disconnected from the network.
Connect To The Extended Network
After you have completed the above steps, you’ll need to reconnect to the extended network. Check the box next to “Confirm that you are now connected to your Extended Network.”
That’s it! If you have performed the steps as mentioned above, you should have no trouble in setting up your Amped wireless range extender. After setting up the extender, you can start enjoying a stronger network signal in your previously WiFi dead zone.
Make sure that you save the Setup Summary as it appears, because you may need to access the dashboard later.
This is the process of setting up an Amped wireless range extender. Hope, after going through the steps mentioned you could set up your extender without any hassle.
